The specific objectives of EuBiA respond to the educational challenge of an ageing population in Europe and will help to provide older adults with pathways to improving their knowledge and competences in the light of the fact that at least three age cohorts of older people can be identified.
The trans-national partnership of organisations and older people will cooperate to establishing a consortium for life long learning in senior age the aims of which are:
- to exchange know-how
- strengthen existing skills and strategies
- adopting and adapting best practice
Finding solutions to the problem of organisational and partnership sustainability will help to improve the quality of learning programs for the older people. Exchanging experiences of the various learning regions
involved will make advantages and disadvantages of cooperation between organisations of adult organisations visible. By the same time EuBiA will focus on the empowerment and participation of older learners. The project will also assist the development of innovative practices in adult education and their transfer to agencies, regions and countries not included in the original partnership. The partnership will develop a common professional terminology related to the education of older adults and support its work through using an internet platform. A sign-post will give directions for a successful coping with older learners.
